Lean Six Sigma
With Lean Management you contemplate the creation of value of processes and you try to optimise these. For that purpose you determine current data like lead time, stock, flow of communication, length of cycle and layout of fabrication on-site and analyse them with the aid of value stream diagrams and other tools.
On basis of easy rules like:
- stock as low as possible
- co-ordinated lengths of cycle
- as short ways as possible inside of the production line
- efficient use of resources
- implementation of the pull strategy
internal process professionals create a target state, which can be acheived with the aid of plans of action on short notice. Lean has it's focus on continuous improvement with small steps sustained by all employees. Therefore you have to make sure that every employee understand and live the basic principles.
But Lean assumes that causes of deficits are clearly visible. This status is not given in every case. In this case the Six Sigma methodology is to be chosen, because Six Sigma analyses causes ofdestructive process engineering and tries to minimise them with a selective improvement project. If variation is too strong, Six Sigma is to be used. With the Six Sigma methodology, you will be able to acheive improvement with the aid of diverse statistical and non-statistical methods, if you are able to find out and to eliminate causes of strong variation.
The combination of Six Sigma and Lean tools plus appropriate project management and project oranisation allows your company to provide the correct the correct tools situationally and to provoke process improvement.
